Head Flattening

As new parents, there’s a lot of information coming at us - all the time! I see a lot of misinformation floating around social media and even shaming parents for their baby having a flat head. Don’t listen to the noise - here’s what I want you to know:

Your baby is perfect!

✨You are a great parent!

✨Listen to your gut - if you notice irregularities in your baby's head shape it’s best to act EARLY by having them evaluated by a Pediatric Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist, who specializes in plagiocephaly.

In the meantime, I’m curious, did you know these 3 facts?

  1. Most of the cases of head flattening that I treat as a pediatric physical therapist actually began in utero.

  2. Head flattening is highly correlated with tightness in the muscles and fascia in the body.

  3. In many cases, early physical therapy treatment (between 0-4 months) can prevent the need for a helmet.

Don’t wait! Book an appointment HERE with me or a local Physical or Occupational Therapist who specializes in head shape and check out my Headshape Handbook!
